One of the most effective ways to get your village panchayat active in waste collection, is to organize a cleanup drive.
On the occasion of International Labour Day, on request of the Ramkrishna Mission, we organized a short cleanup drive at Usgao.
The village panchayat promptly got the bags collected the next day and have promised to collect for any such drives in future.
Also, if the message comes from religious institutions, it could be received much widely and effectively.
