We have been using only organic fertilizers at the farm , every 30 days a dose of bio enriched liquid fertilizer. After a lot of trials we finally got the right mix and it is doing phenomenally well , new leaves on the plants within 3-4 days of application , the fruit size and quality is much better , reduced fruit drop (tested on a breadfruit tree). Last year I switched over from compost and farmyard manure to a Jivamrut based liquid fertilizer, earlier I would use 1 ton
+ of compost, farmyard manure & dried cowdung to enrich the crop area and for the fruit bearing trees.
Huge savings for us since we are no longer depend entirely on compost. The dilution is 1 litre of liquid fertilizer mixed in 10litres of water. The second saving is on manual labour - there's no need to dig around the plants to add the liquid fertilizer, it can be added with a bucket & mug or also introduced through drip lines via Venturi. As of now the liquid fertilizer is being added with a bucket & mug for the trees and with an agricultural sprayer for crops.
We continue to compost leaves and garden waste at the farm , it is used to enrich the soil in the areas where we grow crops and to aerate the soil where it is clayey.
Hope our experience with liquid fertilizer helps new farmers!! 😊
